Heat Pump Icing Up
All SV series heat pumps have anit-freeze protection software. If these software vaules are set incorrectly or have corrupted it may cause the condenser to freeze. During colder months it’s usefull to have the defrost cycle kick in earlier & longer to prevent the heat pump icing up.
These defrost settings can be adjusted via the OEM menu by pressing and holding both the blower + water clean cycle button on your SV series touchpad. see image below.
Once the screen displays C.LMT. Use the down arrow button until D.FST appears. The press ok to enter the defrost settings menu.
The table below shows all recommended values for each defrost setting

All temperature trigger points above are reported from the Heat pump thermistors. Due to certain conditions, environmental factors and length of data cable, the thermistors may need to be calibrated.
Before calibrating the heat pump thermistors, ensure the heat pump is completely free from ice and must be set to OFF. Press here to help with setting your heat pump to OFF. Press here for heat pump thermistor calibration instructions.
